Slay a few dragons

I have this saying when I am talking to my friends at work and need to get back to what I need to be doing. After lunch or after a meeting is wrapping up I'll say something like "well, let's go slay some dragons." It's just a funny way for me to break away and get the point across that "I need to get back to what I am really suppose to be doing here." So on a spiritual front I wonder, are we slaying any dragons? Stepped out of the boat lately??

Got any excuses for why God isn't powerful enough?

In Exodus CH 3:10 thru CH 4, I see God telling Moses, "It's time for you to get busy doing what you're really supposed to be doing." He's been raised with the knowledge (both Hebrew and Egyptian cultures), faced trials from both, spent years in the desert starting his family, and now God has awakened a spirit in him, albeit a little reluctantly as we see from all the excuses Moses has, sounds a little familiar doesn't it?

So, so many good verses here .. I'll try not to just read this week. But pay attenetion to these, I really like these:

3:11-12

3:18

3:21-22

4:1-9 (notice the three things snake, leprosy and water .. representing external fears, internal fears, sustenance)

4:11

and finally CH 4 verses 21 thru 23 are particularly interesting. These get back to the culture around being king and being a king's son, especially the firstborn son. Phaoaoh was really being told here "you're not a diety as your entire culture and history have declared".

Oh it's gonna be good!

See you tomorrow.

No we probably won't win any acting awards, but we just finished up maybe the best Christmas play practice ever. Here's the scene ... Mary and Joseph were sitting in the manger. The lights were dimmed
