It's changing, and it's constant.

Well that's a strange title. Oxymoronic. Like a giant shrimp or a something that's awfully good or the term bittersweet. How can they be both? "The more things change the more they stay the same". Much like life. Today is decoration day at MVBC cemetery. Every year as long as I can remember I have been there on "the Saturday before the third Sunday". I gotta get the history on the origin of that one. I see change, fewer folks, shorter visits, dwindling interest. I see constant, beautifully decorated graves, those trying so hard to keep it going, talk of times past.
The plagues were like that no doubt. Many probably didn't see why things had to change. It's always easier to stay put. "What if" and all that causes doubt. I see man on both sides (Egyptian and Israelite) wondering, doubting, uncertain. After each plague I see Pharaoh changing just a little. But still not accepting. I see Moses coming back with God's instructions. I see the people, unsure. I see the magicians changing. I see God watching over the Israelites. Isn't that the key, always?
We change. We grow. We stumble. We fall. We doubt. We believe. We complain. We drift. We come back. What doesn't change? God's plan. Before the first plague he told Moses exactly what would happen. How Pharaoh would respond. Step back and think of all that happened in these plagues. Think about what happens throughout our lives. We can look back on all that we have been thru and we can see God's plan. It's different for each of us, but it brought us to where we are.
Read thru the Ex CH 7 - 10 again. This week and maybe next let's look at the plagues. As you read them, make yourself a character in the narrative. Are you Moses or are you Pharaoh?
See ya tomorrow!
