In 2020, an "interest free payment pause" was initiated for student loan repayment as part of the covid stimulus package. Last week the supreme court struck down the student loan forgiveness plan that would have provided up tp $20,000 in federal college loan forgiveness to 40,000,000 Americans. If I did the math right, that's 800 billion dollars. There are only 16 nations in the entire world that have a GDP larger than that (out of 195 total). I listened to a podcast where the analyst said that loans would have to start being repaid this fall and this was expected to hurt the retail stores the most, how interesting.
Lyrics to a Pink Floyd song:
Money
It's a crime
Share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie
Money
So they say
Is the root of all evil today
Been out to eat lately? Been to the grocery store? Have you seen the stock market lately? How's you financial planning doing? Your 401K? If your tire blew, would it cause a financial panic? It's been a couple of years but we did a financial class after our Wednesday night service. I loved it. What does the Bible say? Is it good? Is it evil? Should I want more? Is it sin?
Zig Ziglar says "Money won't make you happy but everyone wants to find out for themselves"
I'd like to take a little time to discuss our attitudes toward money. How we got to where we are. How do we get to where we need to be. For our verses let's start with Mat 25:14-30. You know them. It's one of my favorite. So easy to read. So easy to agree with. So hard to do.
See ya tomorrow!
