Get in the boat

It's been a wild few weeks for me. Well, let's make that months. Nah ... years! But that's not a bad thing. My daily life is a whirlwind. That's a little intentional on my part. I never really had a desire to be normal, we'll let's say average (I'm ready for the jokes that I know this statement will bring).

I went over two bridges last week. Tall bridges. I could see them as I drove towards them. And you know how I am with bridges. But it was all good! I've been reading a book I'll tell you about that is helping. This week I want to talk about our lives, our states of mind, and something called the placebo effect. Google "Pavlov's dog" and read about it as background. Then think about the Andy Griffith show "Ellie comes to town" when the new pharmacist wouldn't give the ailing senior citizen her pills.

As our scripture we'll use Luke 5:1 thru 11. So powerful. I especially like vs 11 "they forsook all, and followed him". What is "all"? It almost carries a negative connotation. We immediately think house, family, jobs. But what if it was their old thoughts? Old beliefs? Old traditions? As Zig Ziglar said "you gotta get rid of that stinkin thinkin".

Reminder .. tomorrow is our fellowship meal and cake auction to help with the OCC shipping costs. Come hungry and bring the big bills!!!!!
